I know she used the shower: Hearing from God 3

Good Morning all my beautiful readers,

Happy Sunday to you all and welcome to the very last day of Septermber 2012! By God’s Grace, we will all see October tomorrow, October 2013, October 2073 and even beyond! Praise the Lord! First of all, I would like to share something with you and encourage you to join in and make it a part of you! In the past, I fasted on every single Monday of the week; just a religious fast to introduce me to the week and invite God’s presence. However, after a corporate fast in Church which we call the “Pursuit of God”, I decided to embark on the pursuit of God at the start of every month! The first three days of the month, I spend fasting, and purposefully spending a lot more time with God; much more than every other time! That doesn’t mean that after this, I don’t pray or read the Bible! I made that decision on the first day of the fast and ironically, after the fast, Pastor spoke to the office workers and asked us to each conduct our own personal “Pursuit of God” every month for three days! I was absolutely shocked because only a few weeks before, I had decided to do it so I knew God was definitely speaking. Yesterday however, I was led by God to share this with you and encourage you to also partake! It’s a period of three consecutive days every month where you spend much more time in prayer, fasting, pursuing God in His word and just communing with Him! Spend the time shut out from the World and hearing from God! I like to do mine at the start of every month because it also gives me a chance to speak to God about the month and ask Him to take control! You can however do it when you choose; at the end, at the middle whenever! But I think as you grow in Christ, you make more efforts and attempt to know Him, encounter Him and commune with Him and this is one I ask you to embark on. If you would like to do this, please do so as led.

On with today’s message, sometime ago, I went into the bathroom to take a shower. We have one of those showers where you can adjust the temperature to different degree’s as opposed to those ones where you have to open hot and cold to get the right temperature. On this, you just adjust it to whatever temperature you like . So, as I entered, I put on the shower and it was hot! Uncomfortably hot and I instantly knew my mother had been in the shower before me! Many other times when I entered and it was quite cold, I knew it was my father! I’ve known them for so many years and became familiar with their choices; even how hot or cold they like their shower! It’s the same thing with God, the more time you spend with Him, hearing His voice, the more sensitive you are to His voice and are able to accurately discern whether or not He is speaking to you! It’s as simple as that! However, many of you have asked how to hear from God and how do you know if it is God, your voice or just pure paranoia? Well, I found this very lovely article about this and I thought to share it with you! Enjoy!

Isaiah 30:21And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

We’re all keen to hear from God. But the question still remains how do we hear from God? God is always speaking but the problem is we’re not listening. Let’s take this example, there are a lot of radio waves in the air but your radio set can not get a good signal coming in unless you tune in to the actual frequency the radio is broadcasting on. This also holds true to hearing from God. One needs to tune in to the voice of God with their spirit. Often than not we miss His voice…There are many incidents in the Bible where people even men of God missed the voice of God. The prophet Samuel mistook the voice of God for the voice of the High priest Eli (1 Samuel 3:1-19).For the word of the Lord had not been revealed to him (Chapter 3:7) It was not until the priest Eli revealed to him that it was the LORD calling, that Samuel recognised the voice of God from ( Chapter 3:8-9). And once he recognised the voice of God, he did not struggle a second time to recognised the voice a second time, in fact no mention was made in the Bible about Samuel going back to Eli whiles the Lord called again. Therefore, the key to hearing from God is; “recognition of the voice of God”, tuning in to the right spiritual frequency.

The Lord often speaks in mysterious ways, and we should be ready at all times to hear. One thing that will preclude one from hearing from God is familiarity. Often than not, God speaks in ways we cannot perceive as God, the small little whisper (1 Kings 19:11-13).It happened to Elijah on the mount Horeb.God spoke in a gentle whisper instead of the well-known Fire, earthquake and strong wind. This in fact reveals that God can speak through any medium and you just have to be ready for Him. The LORD sometimes uses circumstances and situations to speak to us, and mostly things around us! The key is recognition! My sheep listen to my voice (John 10:27).

Ways God speaks to His Children
Every Father desires his Children pays attention to him, and therefore He will speak as long as the Children listen. God speaks in many ways, the key is we have to Hear:
1. The primary source God uses to speak to his Children is the Bible (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth).
2. God always speaks of Good things, whilst the devil speaks of evil things.
3. Through our spirit-Our spirit bears witness with the Spirit of God that we are the sons of God (Romans 8:16). God always download information and assignments into our spirit daily, you need to discern them!
4. God speaks through other mediums; situations, circumstances, events, people, animals etc.
5. The voice of God always confirms the word of God, in fact He has placed his word above His Name!
6.If you hear a voice and you’re uncertain if that voice is from God, then ask God for a sign to confirm what you’re hearing. Gideon asked for a confirmation (Judges 6:36-40). In fact there are numerous ways God speaks to us, and one needs to read more of the Bible to discover that truth!
When and Where can we hear God’s voice
We can hear God’s voice everywhere and at anytime.
Who does God Speak to or With?
God does not have a particular preference for who He wants to talk to. God speaks to everyone as long as you are ready to listen to Him. He even speaks into the heart of sinners so that they might come to know His ways (Acts 10:34).
Hearing Correctly
There is a distinction between hearing something and giving heed to the word you’re hearing. Hearing correctly is accomplished by the heart rather than the ears. The heart has ears attached to them, and is only when one learns to hear with the heart rather than with onlythe normal ears that he/she can hear correctly (Mark 4:9).Words must find a place into our hearts and spirit. Faith even comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. You can’t have faith without first hearing the word of God and digesting it with your spiritual faculties. Therefore take heed to what you hear, for whatever you hear will give you faith positively or negatively!
Mark 4:24-And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you; and unto you that hear shall more be given.
How one hears is more important
God is mostly preceded by “Hear !” emphasising the need for us to give heed to the word that follows in our hearts, and not to harden our hearts as did our ancestors and died in the desert. Hearing God is the ability to understand (Discern) and utilize effectively what He says. God will only speak when He needs our attention, and it is important we get that spiritual wavelength that He is transmitting on, so that we don’t miss out on important instructions for our life. Be careful what you’re hearing because there is a lot of noise out there, and the media is full of it! The only medium worthy of authentic information is the Bible handed down to us through revelation and spiritual insight. Once again God is speaking and the key to hearing what He is saying is to be prepared to listen, and recognising that small voice deep inside your inner being. What is God saying in these last days through His spirit and the world order? Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear what God is saying to us in these end-times!
I hope this answered your numerous questions; the key is praying and giving God the opportunity to speak and always being ready, receptive and willing to hear with your heart! God wants us to hear Him and He sure wants to  speak with us! Seek Him and you will find Him! Have a great Sunday and God bless you all!

My love letter

Good Evening Father,

It’s me! Your child, Your daughter, princess, friend, servant, sheep! Today, I don’t want to ask for anything, I just want to thank You Lord for being My friend, for being My Father, Master, Defender, Deliverer, Comforter, My Strength, lover, for being My Everything! I’m grateful because I know that even if I don’t have anything and I have You, everything else doesn’t matter!

Thank You for the roof over my head, the bed I sleep on, the food in the fridge, the money in the bank! Thank You for my living parents, my siblings and extended family! Thank You for my homes in Lagos, London and Lome! Thank You for my sight, hearing and speech! Thank You for I can walk, talk, dance, jump, leap, run and laugh! Thank You for I am healthy! I am not in a hospital bed neither am I dying! Thank You for divine healing, thank You for taking care of me.

I’m grateful because the only thing I am sure of is You and that Your thoughts of me are of good and not evil. I trust that I am always safe in You because You are all knowing and Almighty! I am glad because even when all the others in my life left, You never did! I am grateful because even when I left, You stayed! I am grateful that since the day I was born, You have never disappointed me; when my friends, family and even I disappointed me, You were always there to console me! You never once left me and for that I am grateful! For that I say- You are faithful, wonderful, kind and glorious! You deserve all the glory and Lord I vow to You today; that for as long as I live, I will praise You! You will be first in my life and my home! Every child that comes forth from my womb will praise You! As for me and my house, we will forever praise You! Thank You for loving me and thank You for giving me the opportunity to know You so intimately, to love You and to be in love with You! Since the day I first encountered You, my life has never been the same. You have taken me from glory to glory and I know You will never stop! I feel You, Your ever powerful presence and I know that I am blessed and favoured to have a friend in You!

Thank You for seeing me through these past few years, for everything You have done, for upholding me and giving me strength to bear the past losses, grief and failures! Thank You that today, I am a better and stronger person. Thank You for pulling me out of the miry clay and for polishing me, teaching me and talking to me! Thank You for putting a fear of You in me, for putting a heart of gold in me and giving me a voice! Thank You Lord for being You! Thank You for forgiving me at every wrong turn and always embracing me even when I absconded; thank You!

Most recently, I am grateful for this blog! Thank You for the readers, the messages and the emails! Thank You for the posts and thank You for the encouragement and for those You have touched! Thank You for helpers, thank You for mentors and those who inspire me! Thank You for my parents, my family, my friends! Thank You for my Church- Jesus House and the Pastors- Pastor Agu, Pastor Shola, Pastor Bajo and all the others! Thank You for my department and Church family who have so touched me and been an instrumental part of this journey! Thank You for David’s Christian Centre Lagos; for Pastors Kingsley & Mildred Okonkwo and the whole DCC/LDM family! Thank You Lord for placing such amazing and genuinely God fearing people in my life! I bless You Lord.

Yesterday I submitted my dissertation and all I could do was thank You because You pulled me through, You taught me and You did it all! My interviews were all You! The idea, the writing, was all You! I had limited time to work on it and there were several things that both my supervisor and I predicted I wouldn’t be able to do, but You made sure I did them! When I was told I would only be able to do six interviews and even that was a push, You helped me do eight! When I wrote the findings section and said I couldn’t add those very crucial quotes, You helped me do them right down to the very last one! Even when I thought I may not be able to bind on time, You ensured I did and submitted early!

Last night, I had two very vivid dreams and I will call them visions; amazing revelations of two good things to come! I have been praying for those two things and yesterday I saw both of them in my grasp and I say AMEN to them! The visions were very real and vivid and I know I will soon be experiencing them! I say thank You in advance Lord because I know without You neither of them would be possible and I bless You Lord! Thank You Father for answering my prayer! Thank You Jehovah! Thank You for those visions and for always thinking of me! Thank You for this new joy and hope You’ve brought to me and thank You that even when these two things happen, I will not be able to take the glory neither can anyone else! Thank You that when they do happen, because of all the circumstances, people will have to praise You and say Indeed it was God!

Thank You for loving me, for being the only constant in my life! For embracing me, guiding me and protecting me! Thank You for fighting for me, for dying for me and for saving me! I have never known a love like this; a love so pure, so true, so beautiful and so strong! A love that never dies, tires or fades! The love You’ve shown me is truly the greatest, touching and humbling one could ever know! Thank You Father, thank You for being my one and only confidant, the one I celebrate with, dance with, cry to and talk to! The one I laugh with and the only one who wakes me up and puts a smile on my face every morning. The one I live for and the one who gave me life! Thank You!

I wonder what I could give You to show my love and appreciation? What could I give the One who has and owns everything? I give You my life, my heart, my mind, my body and my soul and I promise to show people the same love You have shown me!

Again I say Thank You!

Your Princess of Zion

Choosing my spouse: Hearing from God 2

Good Afternoon everyone,

Great news all round! I’ve received emails from some of you asking about how my Dissertation is going! Just to inform you that I submitted yesterday! Praise the Lord! It was an extremely trying and tasking process but I am grateful to God that it is over! I remember going to Lagos, thinking I could have some time to complete it but when I arrived, my father was very unwell and so I spent every single day with him, catering to his needs, praying for him and getting him on his feet! Thank God today, he is much better, stronger and active; thanks to God! There were so many issues and I thought I wouldn’t be able to finish on time but God saw me through the entire process and to Him I am extremely grateful!

On with today’s message, which is the second part about hearing God, I will be answering a question relating to hearing God that I have received so many times and I too have asked and it is relating to hearing God on the choice of a spouse! Many people have asked questions like

1- Does God choose my spouse for me?

2- Should I pick myself?

3- Do I need to ask God?

4- What if God chooses someone that I don’t like?

About two weeks ago, I think I came up with a suitable answer to this. Do you remember being a student in high school? After a certain grade, students get the opportunity to choose the subjects they would like to study in more detail. For instance, at my High School, we had to choose between History and Geography, Economics or Literature. Science or Arts. Now, for me, I had to go to my parents and tell them what I was considering but they had to agree. There were about five possible scenarios.

1- The easy way was you decide on a particular subject, told your parents they agreed and you went forward to make the choice. For example, I wanted to choose Biology, my parents thought it was a great choice, gave me their approval and I did. I however, had to ask for their approval first.

2- Another scenario is where you make a choice, present it to your parents but they do not agree! In this case, you would either stick with your choice or listen to your parents. For instance, I wanted to pick Literature but my parents thought Economics would be a better choice. They absolutely did not agree with Literature because they thought I wouldn’t enjoy it, the coursework was too much and Economics would be more beneficial for my career and I agreed. Unfortunately, I decided to still go with Literature and after a few months, I found that i absolutely hated it and couldn’t continue; I wish I had listened to my parents! Luckily for me, I was still within the time frame where I could drop it. At this point, I dropped Literature and decided to try Economics which they had already suggested and I found that I loved it, I enjoyed it and was passing! If I had waited past the deadline, I would be forced to continue with Literature with no option to drop it and if I failed, that would be my fault.

3- Another example is where your parents suggest a particular subject and you don’t agree. For instance, my parents suggested that I studied Physics and I felt it wasn’t in my interest, I didn’t like Physics and it would be too difficult to cope. My parents being understanding saw with it and realised i wouldn’t like it and said it was okay to forego Physics. So, we both agreed on that. Your parents love  you and want you to pick a subject you will love, enjoy and find rewarding; not one you would hate and endure! They know that exams, coursework and studying can be difficult and challenging as such you can not be forced to do a particular subject but should pick one you love and are happy to sit exams for. Besides, if I did pick Physics and I failed, I would instantly blame them. So, they knew it had to be something I agreed to study.

4-The forth case is where your parents actually make a suggestion to you which you instantly agree with because you find that you actually like the subject, enjoy it and are willing to learn, study and go through the tests and challenges. My parents suggested History and I instantly liked it and I picked it.

5- Another example is where your parents suggest something because they know you so well and are sure that studying such a subject would be instrumental in your career and you will enjoy it but initially you are not too keen; they don’t force you but reveal parts of that subject that you then begin to like and you think it would henceforth be a good choice. However, they didn’t force you, they suggested it and helped you to realise you would like it. My parents suggested Chemistry and I instantly did not like it; I thought “No way”. But my mother was highly insistent that I would like it and encouraged me to explore it; I later found out that I loved Chemistry, I picked it and I even got an A!

These are very similar to the situations one may face with the choice of who to marry but in the end it is your choice and God can not force you into something your heart is not in. God is not a slave-driving unfair wicked man. He is a loving, wise, kind, merciful and understanding Father and wants you to like your spouse and love him/her. He knows that marriage may have its challenges, tests and trials and for you to pass them, you will have to be committed to that spouse and willing to do the work that marriage requires! God however wants you to submit your choice to Him and ask for His approval. He doesn’t want you to make a wrong choice and end up in a wrong relationship or even worse; marriage! In my subject scenario, I still went with my personal choice that my parents didn’t agree with but luckily, this was still during the “courtship” phase and I was able to opt out but this was emotionally tasking and I wish I had altogether listened to them but I was lucky that I hadn’t gone into the permanent phase “marriage” where I had no choice but to live with my choice.

So, in essence God knows best! He absolutely does and it is imperative that we heed to His voice regarding who to court and marry. God knows you better than you know yourself and He sees your future and is therefore in a better position to advice you on who to marry. He does realise who will be the most suitable help meet or head for you. This is why sometimes when we present a choice to Him, He disapproves because He believes you won’t actually love the person in the long run and will not enjoy that marriage. He will expect you to look out for someone else and again seek His approval. Being an all knowing God, He will direct you and lead you. In some cases, God may even speak to you and suggest someone to marry; you may instantly realise the person is a perfect match or you may not immediately like them. I personally believe that God will not choose someone you don’t like and in the event that He does, He won’t force you to marry that person.

In the majority of cases, you will pick your spouse and you will need to ask for God’s approval but there are some instances were God has been the one to first reveal to someone who they should pick; this does happen especially for people whose future is in ministry but none of them have been forced to pick but actually saw the beauty of God’s choice and they themselves now made that their first choice! For some others, they may have protested at first but with time, God revealed more about the other person to them and they then were very happy to court and marry that person.

I hope these analogies have really cleared this up for you and given you a deeper revelation and meaning into the process of picking your future spouse. I also pray that you now fully understand the balance and the process of picking a spouse and will let God help and lead you. Be willing to hear from God, be prayerful at every point and always be open to God. You will not make a mistake in your choice but I decree that God will reserve His best for you and whoever you court and marry will be a humble, God fearing servant of God who will love and cherish you and you will have the marriage of your dreams! Amen! God bless you all.

“Practice what you preach”- Hearing from God 1

Good Evening to all my beautiful and amazing readers,

How was your Monday? Blessed? Favoured? Fun filled? I certainly hope so! I had a message scheduled for today but over the weekend a few things happened and I just wanted to share them with you. My last post was “Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit”. If you haven’t read it, I suggest you read it here-

On Friday night, I had a prayer meeting at Church which was extremely empowering and awesome! It was great to meet with God in the place of prayer and exciting to see all what He’s doing. My mother had dropped into town two days prior to this and the supply of water was running low at home and so I thought I had to dash straight to the Grocery store to get her an ample supply of water to make her feel comfortable! So, after the prayer meeting, I was tending to some admin duties when a gentleman in my department said “You live in DH right? please give me a lift home”. I hadn’t seen him a while, no hi, and besides I didn’t live there so I was a bit taken aback. I replied that I didn’t live there although it was close it wasn’t the way I was going. I then continued with my duties and he came to me about four times more. I was already being held up by the admin duties and didn’t want to drop him off at home then find my way to the big grocery store because I assumed it would be too late. So, I asked another lady in my department who was taking a cab home to that same area to kindly give him a lift. After I finished my duties, I entered my car and sped off, whilst driving, I noticed this man at the bus stop waiting in the cold and I thought “He didn’t go with the lady? Why not”, as a human being two things were battling inside of me; the first was my need to rush to that special grocery store to get my mother’s water (after all it was instrumental to her well being); while the second was the kind, altruistic, christian voice in me which said “you can’t leave this little man waiting in the cold” but the flesh in me tried to justify it but I found myself going past the round about and turning back towards the bus stop. I stopped for him and asked him to hop in. You should have heard the utter relief and appreciation in his voice (I had just cut his 30 minute journey intertwined with a long walk in the freezing cold with a 5 minute ride in a warm car, dropped right at his door step). He was utterly grateful and I felt so bad for refusing him the first time. I told him about my onward journey and to my surprise, his house was only 60 seconds from the grocery store I was heading to but on the other route I had never crossed; which was even a much shorter route than the one I had planned to go on. I mean, this was just great! By giving him a lift home, I got to discover a short route to this store and I got there on time (five minutes early) and was able to get all the water for my mother. I’m sure he was so grateful to me but I was equally grateful to him; as he did save me a lot of time and showed me something I didn’t know. All I could think of was- Trust God! Trust God! All those times when God asked you to do something or say something but you had your own plan, don’t you now wonder what you missed out on? Don’t we realise that the Lord knows the end from the beginning- Isaiah 46:10? I am just glad that I heard God and that I did heed to His voice in the end because I was opportuned to have blessed someone and I was also blessed as well. Praise the Lord!

My encounter with God didn’t end there though. At the grocery store, I decided to get her 4 packs of 4×4 water, the bottles are 2 litres each, so that’s quite a lot! I put them in my car and made my way home! As I approached my apartment, I noticed there was a huge influx of cars parked and made the rounds looking for a parking space, I drove around and round the block time and time again for over fifteen minutes until I finally found a parking space two streets away from my home. I parked the car and proceeded to unload the bottles into my shopping trolly bags (the ones the old ladies use to carry their shopping). I had two of them and so I placed 2 packs of water in each trolley and made my way home! Now, I had to walk up the street to a mini junction and then cross over, turn left and walk further up the hill to my apartment! It was a horrendous experience; dragging 8litres of water in each hand plus my body weight up this very steep hill on a very cold night! It was extremely energy busting and I said to God- Why? Why would you have me do this? What the Lord said to me was so clear that I immediately shut up and bore the brunt of this work. He said- “practise what you preach” and I remembered that my post that morning was about your body and I spoke about exercise and so on, meanwhile I hadn’t been exercising. Although I admitted in that post that I hadn’t been faithful to my body with regards to diet and exercise, it was now in my power to implement changes and see them through and it just isn’t limited to exercise but to all other areas of my life. I think this also tied in with what happened earlier in which as Christians, we are encouraged to show and give love to people even if we have to inconvenience ourselves for the person and even when the person is “not loveable”. It was a great epiphany and I was happy to oblige.

However, earlier on, on that same Friday after writing that post in which I mentioned going for medical check ups, I booked several appointments for myself (dentist, doctor’s, blood test to check my genotype and lastly an optician’s. The reason why I’ve decided to check my blood test is because whilst growing up I was led to believe I was AC, however whilst on my vacation in Nigeria, I did a test and I was told I was AS. As such, I am doing another one here just to get a second opinion and be sure; as they say in Proverbs 11:14, in the multitude of counsellors, there is safety! Amen! Anyway, so I also decided to visit the opticians because the last time I was there was during the easter of 2010 and I thought to just go there for “going sake”. My appointment was scheduled for 10:40 am on Saturday morning and well, thank God I went! This is when I say- Praise the Lord! I went there and the optician said my eyes were healthy but there was an issue. I am longsighted but my eyes aren’t comfortable reading things at close range which is seriously straining my eyes and the short story is that, I need glasses! I was shocked! Dumbfounded! I couldn’t even pick out a pair because I hadn’t expected it and so, I picked up their notes and swiftly made my way out! On my way home, all I could think of was “how didn’t I notice? How could I miss this? But the main thing I could think of was “Wow! God is great, I really should practise what I preach, it’s just “saved” me”.

These really are three of my personal experiences that happened all within twenty-four hours but were very important and I just thank God for giving us the opportunity to hear Him and the grace and strength to acknowledge His voice and heed to it! It is indeed a great blessing! Whilst typing this, I remembered two more messages that I need to post before I return to my original schedule; ironically both of them are related to hearing from God! This was not at all a deliberate plan and I’ve only just noticed and I believe it is the Lord’s doing and I decree that you will hear from God in these coming days and your life will never remain the same! You will encounter God and wherever you go henceforth, people will ask you why you are glowing. Amen! Have a blessed day my darling family; God bless you all!

Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit

Good Afternoon beautiful family,

Thank God it’s Friday! Again I say, thank God that you have a job and are alive to see this day! I hope you’ve had a blessed and fulfilled week and the Lord has really ushered you into greatness this week! I can’t believe how quickly 2013 is approaching! I remember the start of 2012; being unsure of what the year held for me but making decrees and prophetic declarations of freedom, greatness! I am just so glad that God has been so faithful! I could cry right now thinking of all He’s done for me! But let’s get on with today’s message; may the Lord give us all uncommon wisdom and understanding to hear what it is He wants us to hear today! Be blessed!

1 Corinthians 6:17-20– But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

I always knew that fornication, adultery, masturbation and so on were sins against God and a sin against our own body but the greatest revelation of the Scripture above with regards to sexual sin was delivered by Pastor Bayo Adewole of RCCG Jesus House Chicago. Pastor Bayo said when we commit sexual sin, we are abusing the Holy Spirit, because our body is His temple and He dwells in it. But you may wonder- how? This was where I got my revelation. He asked- How many of you when you want to fornicate with your “girlfriend” or work colleague invite your brother to watch? How many of you invite your parents to watch you while you masturbate? Or do any of you invite your mother-in-law while you commit adultery? Please be honest- Have you ever said- “Hey dad, I am going to sleep with my boyfriend now, please come along and watch”? Who does that? So, if you can’t do that, how much more you invite the Holy Spirit? That is what we do! Simply put! Everytime we commit sexual sin, we take the Holy Spirit, we take God with us to witness such indecency! Isn’t that a wicked and shameful thing that we do? If you can’t see the picture of your parents, siblings and in-laws watching you fornicate or masturbate then why put God in that situation? Would you be happy to watch your unmarried daughter fornicate or your son-in-law cheat on your daughter? NO! So, why do we do this to our Father in Heaven? We take Him along with us every time because the Holy Spirit dwells in us! Did somebody catch that? Please and please, it doesn’t matter what you have done in the past, today make a stand that you will never insult God again by practising illicit sex! Please, the Lord created sex to be thoroughly enjoyed by husband and wife within marriage only! That means, sex outside of marriage i.e with anyone other than your spouse is forbidden! Masturbation/self stimulation is also forbidden! Incest, sodomy, bestiality and all these other things I’m sure you know are also forbidden!

I’m sure many of you thought I would just end at “sex”. However, respecting your body isn’t limited to refraining from sexual sin. It also has to do with what you consume and how you take care of your body from the inside! Your food intake! Now, I will be blatantly honest here and say I am one of those who abuses my body in this area! We as Christians need to be cognisant of what we ingest! Eat a balanced diet; restrict your “junk” intake! If you don’t believe me, just search for gluttony in the Bible; I sighted several passages that spoke against it. One of which is Proverbs 23:20-21- Be not among drunkards or among gluttonous eaters of meat, for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and slumber will clothe them with rags. Frankly, it is for your own health! Many of us have seen obese people who started by excessive eating and today are suffering from several health issues- diabetes, high blood pressure and so on. Many of whom are bed ridden and have to undergo surgery to save their lives! May that not be your portion in Jesus’ Name! Amen! It is extremely sad that they’ve become severely disabled and developed so many medical complications. It’s something that we need to decide and put our foot down on, starting a good balanced diet, drinking lots of water, eating our fruits/vegetable, limiting our sugar/carb intake and being very intentional about the things we eat/drink. The same amount of discipline we apply to refraining from sexual sin, we ought to put the same amount of effort from refraining from certain foods! I’m by no means asking anyone to go on a strict diet but to be conscious of what we put in our bodies.

Part of taking care of our bodies is getting regular exercise! I’m going to be honest here and put my hand up and say this is one area where I’m really lacking but I have decided that I will start up a daily exercise regime! At the moment, I’m 58kilos, I’m a UK Size 8 and so I am quite slim but I know that exercise is something that I need to keep healthy and fit, build my stamina, get by blood pumping and circulating. People who do regular activity have a lower risk of many chronic diseases, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke and some cancers. Research shows that physical activity can also boost self-esteem, mood, sleep quality and energy, as well as reducing your risk of stress, depression, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. I think exercise is great medicine! I know many may automatically think about gym membership fees but you don’t need to join a gym. You can walk/jog/run around your estate or even up and down your street! You can do sit ups, push ups on your room floor! You can buy a skipping rope and skip while you watch Joyce Meyer! 30 minutes of moderate exercise everyday will go a long way to help strengthen your body! Please join me today 🙂

Here I mean substances put into the human body that alter/enhance behaviour/performance. I am not referring to foods or medicines prescribed by doctors. But I mean, alcohol, cigarettes, marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy, heroine, steroids and so on! We all know that all of the above are very harmful to the human body and have no actual benefits but they only destroy our bodies! They can cause serious addictions, liver damage, cancer, schizophrenia and much more! The Lord put us in this human body to dominate the world, discover our purpose, maximise our potential and that of others and to impact lives! We are not here to ruin our bodies! I will never ask anyone to use any of those drugs above as they are highly detrimental to your body! I think as a Christian, we should respect, preserve and protect our bodies and not use any of these harmful substances! Again, would you ask your mother to watch you while you smoked marijuana or injected heroine? I don’t think so; how much more the Holy Spirit. If it was something you struggled or are struggling with, ask the Lord to come in and help you, declare that you are no longer a drug user and get help! Get help immediately!

Simply put, see your doctor! Go for medical check ups at least every year! See your dentist and optician every year! Get your eyes and teeth checked! Check everything! I hate to say this but many people who survive cancer where the ones who discovered it early! Don’t wait to get ill before you make a visit to the doctor’s. I have to be very real with you! If you’ve been sexually active in the past, please go to a sexual health clinic and get tested for STDS! I will advice every single person to do this! Know your status today; especially your HIV status! You need to know all these things and you need to take care of yourself! Take your multivitamins and any medication prescribed by your doctor! Women, examine your breasts once a month for lumps, men examine your prostrate, be aware of your body and always observe any abnormalities!

Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit! Protect its modesty! Been conscious of how you dress! Don’t dress shabbily or like someone with no self esteem! Dress well, dress nice, clean and sharp! At the same time, don’t over expose your body, don’t be offensive with your dressing! Dress appropriately for your size and frame, dress appropriately for your age! After a certain age, there are certain clothes that are best left for your children! While you’re a young woman as well, there are certain clothes that are best left for your grand mother to wear! Be confident in your dressing, always neat, clean and appealing to yourself and others!

I think as human beings, we need to take care of ourselves! Our face, skin, hair, nails and so on! There are certain things we shouldn’t do such as bleaching and extended exposure to the sun. These are two very harmful things that we should avoid at all costs! I’m sure you all know how dangerous bleaching is and all the toxins it introduces to your blood stream! Extremely dangerous my friends!

Face- Exfoliate once a week, wash your face twice a day with a mild facial wash, cleanse and moisturise! Always apply sun screen if you are going out into the sun!

Body- Take a shower/bath at least once a day, followed by a moisturising lotion to protect the skin.

Hair- Ladies, wash your hair weekly with a sulphate-free shampoo, apply leave in conditioner and seal in the moisture with a good natural oil or butter! Pay special attention to your edges and temples, while you sleep protect your hair by wrapping it in a silk or satin scarf/bonnet. If you relax your hair, please leave at least a 12 week gap in between and never leave the relaxer in for more than 20 minutes (depending on the specific instructions). Limit the amount of heat you use on your hair and always use a heat protector first; opt for roller setting instead of curling with an iron.

Nails- Eat a balanced diet, always apply top coat to prevent nails from chipping, splitting and breaking! Push cuticles back weekly and give yourself a manicure/pedicure every month.

That’s all folks! It’s Friday! Have a wonderful weekend and praise the Lord! I have one more week till I submit my dissertation project! Lord be with me! All the best, family! Have a great Friday and God bless you all!

Love and Justice

Good Afternoon everyone,

Praise the Lord! Thanking God for a new day! Thanking Him for I can see, type, hear, walk, run, dance and laugh! Our God is the most high God! I just feel the sense of amazement and joy in my heart right now; I don’t know what it is but all I can say is that God is great! I think it’s just amazing that we have this platform where we can connect and seek God together! It’s just a blessing and if I’m being honest; the PoZ blog and family are very important to me and I love you all! Thank you so much for all the love and for all the prayers! You are the most amazing and the most beautiful bunch of people! I appreciate you all! God bless you!

As you all know, when I was in Nigeria, I attended Daystar Christian Centre Church and the Sunday before I left, the message that Rev Sam Adeyemi preached was on “Love and justice”. I just knew I had to share it with you; I briefly touched on this in my message about Nigeria but I know that this is a very important topic that needs it’s own post and I am positive that it will bless you and by God’s grace change your life forever. Amen! Let’s just give God the praise!

Firstly, I have to say that as Christians, we must stand for justice; at home, in the workplace and in our country! Justice is enforcing what is morally right and the God that we serve is a God of justice! Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne and rulership. That is how important justice is to our God!

Psalms 89:14Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.

Deuteronomy 10:17-19– For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment. Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

When God loves you, He ensures that you are not cheated or deprived of what is yours. The other side of this is that He loves your neighbour as much as He loves you, so He won’t allow you to cheat your neighbour because He loves them equally.

Acts 10: 34– Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons

God insists on justice so each person won’t be deprived of what is rightfully their’s. We need to understand the purpose of the resources Jesus has given us. When you get power, the best thing to do with it is to ensure equality in the society and I say this boldly because I know that many readers are reaching their place of honour and lifting and this is our season of promotion, enlargement and announcement! Many of us our reaching new heights this season and assuming higher positions and responsibility and we must endeavour to use it rightly! Brothers and sisters, when you get power and you have the spirit of God in you, always try to create equality! Stand in the gap for the meek, the weak and the oppressed! Be it at your workplace, in your family, in your home, in your Church, department, even while you are standing at the queue in the grocery store! Everyday we watch things happen that are unjust but I ask you today; use your power to ensure equality wherever you go and in the society at large. Amen.

Isaiah 40:29- He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

Have you noticed that the Lord always tries to create equality and ensure that there is justice? That’s what he wants us to do.

Luke 4:18-19– The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

We need to stand for justice at every opportunity we get. Injustice causes the society to disintegrate. Do you realise that one of the reasons that the Lord destroyed the city of Sodom and Gomorrah was because of injustice? I’m sure you missed that; I certainly did! Many of us think it was just because of homosexuality. However, there was so much injustice in that city.

Ezekiel 16:49– Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

Did you get that? Did somebody receive that Word? There was fullness of bread and abundance of riches in the land but there were poor people who were left to their own devices and no help rendered to them. That is injustice and our God is a God of justice! When you see human beings through God’s eyes, you will hate injustice. You can not have the love of God and remain inactive in the face of injustice and I know every reader right now knows of injustice happening around them, some of you can even see it happening and you need to stop it!
What do you do?
Isaiah 1:17- Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.
You can not love God and not love man. You can not love man and fail to seek justice for them. Here’s what we can all do.
1- The first part is to alleviate the suffering of the people. For example, there’s a lady I met who was brought to this country to study but as soon as she got here, she’s been kept at home by her relatives and used as a maid/nanny and she isn’t paid. One of the first things I did was to support her, financially. The lady complained that she had no money for toiletries, so I decided to buy shampoos, conditioners, toothpaste, shower gels, mouthwash and so on for her. That is something you can do, it doesn’t have to be money. You can buy food, toiletries or accommodate them.
2- Empower the hurting- One instrumental thing is to teach the oppressed to know their rights. Help them to know that what they are going through is not right and should not be tolerate. Many people who suffer such afflictions are not aware about what they are entitled to but you need to educate them. For example, in the case of this lady, I had to explain her rights to her so she could make informed decisions.
3- Confront the oppressor- When I say confront, I don’t mean it in a violent way but in a way to understand what the situation is. You need to know why they are doing this and you need to reach an agreement on how to help the victim. A lot of wisdom and Godly counsel is required for this to be successful.
I challenge you all to take up one case of injustice this week and show the love of God! Help someone who is being oppressed or cheated and just watch their life come back together! Remember that we are blessed so we can be a blessing to others. May the Lord give us grace, strength and faith to stand up for the weak and needy and may His will be done! God bless you all.

Testimony time….Ten fold increase

Good Morning all,

I received an absolutely amazing testimony over the weekend and I just wanted to share it with everyone especially all those who are bloggers or business owners; it really goes to show the power of the tongue! Wow! I emphasise this a lot and I pray this testimony will show you the true power of the tongue and the power of faith and prophecy.

I received an email from a blogger on the 23rd of July 2012 testifying about God’s goodness! He said it had been two months since he started his blog and since Day 1, He had received 828 collective page views in two months! To many of us that is very little but I was touched by his testimony because he was grateful to God. This is his email below-

I once read somewhere that a society that moves forward without a pause and reflecting on where they have come from, then they is doomed. “40 brave souls for Christ”, that was our first post when we began this blog way back on May 25th 2012. Now, forging forward, we pause to look back and reflect at what God has done ever since we began through our writings on this blog. From just 2 page views when we first began, we now stand at an all time 828 page views and the number of visitors to our blog keeps growing by the day. I never dreamt I would have readers from other nations but to say the least we have nearly one reader from each continent and that is encouraging.

I was very humbled by his testimony and so I gave him a very short but prophetic reply- This was my reply to him- Wonderful! Keep celebrating God and He will announce and decorate you! Congratulations; I decree a ten fold increase for your blog. AMEN. I however got a huge shock when he emailed me on Friday to testify of the Lord’s goodness!

Wow! indeeed as the power of the word declares that death and life is in our tongues- you once prophesied in an email-“Wonderful! Keep celebrating God and He will announce and decorate you! Congratulations; I decree a ten fold increase for your blog. AMEN.” To say the least God has been faithful and done that my blog is about to hit its first 10000 views…

This is just so amazing and I am so happy for him! It took him 2 months to reach 800 views but within another month and a half, God increased his views to more than 9000 views! I mean, that is absolutely amazing! More than a ten fold increase! That is why no matter what you are going through, praise the Lord and testify of His goodness! Declare great and mighty things for yourself and when you receive a word of prophecy, hold on to it and believe God! As God has done for this reader/blogger, the Lord shall do for all of us! I declare a further twenty fold increase on his blog and for the POZ Blog.
I pray for all the bloggers, workers, business owners and readers in the house, the Lord shall give us all a fifty fold increase! This indeed is our season of enlargement and increase beyond all borders! It is well with us! The Lord shall promote and increase us, our businesses, blogs and all that we lay our hands upon! In Jesus’ Mighty Name I pray! Amen! Amen and Amen! God bless you all and I look forward to reading more testimonies from you!
