More than a Golf Club

Good Morning everyone,

I hope you’re having a great day and enjoying this lovely month of August. Today I just want to share a story I read 2 and a half months ago. I read it in my devotional in May and it really challenged and encouraged me; I pray it will do the same for you. Amen.

It is a story about a golf trainer that simply illustrates the importance of thinking big and expecting big things from your big God. The trainer was invited by a wealthy and powerful king to come and train him on how to play golf. He taught the king for a couple of days and when he was about to leave, the king summoned him to show his appreciation. He asked him, “what can I do to show you how much I appreciate your kind gesture” “Don’t bother” the trainer replied. “You’ve been a wonderful host, I’ve enjoyed every bit of my stay here. Getting to train you itself is a privilege I will forever appreciate”.

But the king was adamant. He did not want the golfer leave without receiving something special. When the golfer realised this, he told the king, “ can send me a golf club”. He was asking for the golf “stick” used to hit golf balls! The king was happy! On his way back home, the golfer began to think and imagine the kind of golf stick that the king was going to send him. Was it going to be gold plated? Would it have diamonds and jewellery all over it? He kept imagining what it would look like.

By the time he arrived home, there was a package waiting for him. It was a certified package from the king, He was wondering if it was his golf stick. When he opened it, he was shocked: it was the deeds (legal papers) to a 500-acre 18-hole golf club (golf field). He almost passed out! The man was thinking about a golf club (stick for hitting golf balls), but the king was thinking about a golf club (large expanse of land where you can play golf).

Just as the king seriously exceeded the golf trainer’s expectations, your God wants to exceed your expectations. He is the King of all Kings and His vision and dreams are so much bigger than you can imagine. Remember, you cannot be the child of a great God  and remain small all your life. Stretch yourself and reach out for something new. Think big! PRAY BIG! Ask big! Plan big and talk big!

I pray that this message has reached out to someone and shown them that the God we serve is bigger than all our problems. For some of us, God wants to take us to a new level; stretch your minds and let’s go big with Him! For some of us, our prayers aren’t being answered because we’re asking God for fish while He wants to make us fishers of men. Some of us are asking for a £30,000 salary while God wants to announce our £300,000/year business. Many of you are asking to just get married to anyone, while God has been preparing a very special spouse for you. This is why praying in the spirit is so important because it bypasses our limited and small thinking and prays in accordance with the perfect will of God; this is a topic for another day. May our minds never limit our lives. Amen.

Have a great day, God bless, prosper & favour you all. I’ll leave you with one Scripture!

Ephesians 3:20- Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

God bless you Princess for this message. I want to ask you a question, how do i effectively hear God and also pray in the Spirit? Thank you

    • You are very welcome Gloria!
Have you been baptised in the spirit? Do you already speak in tongues? If you do, then spend time praying in the spirit, just like any language, the more you speak, the more fluent and lucid you become. The more it edifies your spirit man! Spend 50% of your time praying in your understanding and the other 50% praying in the spirit.

If you haven’t already, you need to seek and pray to God for the gift; you have the right to. Read Acts 2 and then look at the word in Luke 11:9-13

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

God will do it! You can speak to your local Pastor and I’m sure they have special meetings for Holy Ghost baptism where they pray for the congregants! Very similar to Acts 2 but even before that keep praying towards it. I remember doing this profusely because I so yearned for the gift. God will not withhold any good thing from His children! Ask, pray and seek.

Regarding hearing from God, it is a very personal issue. No two people hear God the same way. It’s the closer you get, the clearer it is! What you need to do is spend more time in prayer and studying the Scripture, gradually you will begin to hear, either from His word or even dreams. I don’t know how He will reveal Himself to you but you need to know him more and get closer to Him. Amen. I pray you will Hear from Him effectively and regularly.
